Students in high school have jam-packed schedules, especially while preparing for college applications. Studying for entrance exams, taking AP and Honors Classes, and researching colleges and careers is more than a full-time effort. We encourage students to start thinking about their college essay topics early, and finish drafts throughout the summer before junior year.
But we all know how life goes, jobs, internships, volunteering and so much homework…sometimes writing college essays is difficult to fit into busy lives. Plus, different college and scholarship applications, and the schools themselves require multiple essays for unique prompts.
We built this Essay Planning Tool to help students plan, ideate, draft, seek feedback and write the most powerful, representative essays possible.
We ask members, first, to be kind and, second, to give meaningful feedback, so that students can refine their essays in their own voice. Feel free to proofread or suggest grammar and syntax improvements. Ultimately, each essay needs to be the work of each student, because that is who the colleges admissions representatives and scholarship reviewers want to get to know.
